Beautiful jquery lightbox plugins

When I am re-designing my official website i have googling for thickbox alternatives to used in my portfolio section, thickbox is great but i need a lightbox effect plugins with beautiful predefined styles and compatible with latest jquery 1.3.1 version, and jquery lightbox below match my requirements.

PrettyPhoto jquery lightbox

I have been using prettyphoto since few months ago for several web projects, it is lightweight and has nice predefined rounded corner style, but its only designed for image inline popup, single and gallery images.

if you need a lightbox with image support only, prettyphoto may come in your first list.

ColorBox jquery lightbox

ColorBox is a highly customizable jquery lightbox plugin which has 4 different predefined styles, ColorBox may one of the best alternative to thickbox.

Pirobox jquery lightbox

Pirobox has a very nice rounded styles as what i seen in nick stakenburg’s lightview, support single and gallery images, but i found minor bug when you click often without waiting the popup finished, caption will overlapped with image. Overall pirobox can be a good alternative to lightbox your image gallery using jquery, I personally love the rounded style.
